The Shift from Viral to Synthetic Delivery
Since the early 1970s, viral vectors have transformed the treatment of genetic disorders and helped advance personalized medicine. However, viral carriers face important limitations including toxicity, immunogenicity, and the risk of insertional mutagenesis. Their production is also complex, with significant challenges related to regulatory requirements, quality control, and scalability.
The success of mRNA vaccines drew attention to the potential of non-viral delivery technologies. Lipid nanoparticles and other synthetic carriers have demonstrated that therapeutic payloads can be delivered with strong loading capacity, favorable safety profiles, and scalable manufacturing.
Even with these advances, achieving precise targeting and efficient cellular uptake remains a challenge. FINNCURE was founded to solve this problem through receptor-targeted carrier systems.
01
A Platform for
Targeted Delivery
FINNCURE develops functionalized carrier systems that selectively bind to target receptors, enabling precise delivery of therapeutic compounds, as well as selective receptor-level blocking. The platform is designed for reproducible and scalable manufacturing. While current development is focused on lipid nanoparticles, the technology is not limited to lipid-based systems.
02
Multiple Therapeutic
Applications
A broad range of therapeutic payloads can be incorporated into the carrier platform, enabling applications in targeted therapeutics, infectious disease prevention, and gene-based therapies.
03
Validated in
Preclinical Studies
Preclinical studies conducted at Charles River Laboratories and Tebubio have demonstrated receptor-specific localization, high target tissue uptake, minimal off-target accumulation, inhibition of viral entry, and favorable tolerability and safety.
